Welcome
Friend4Litigants provide Lay Advocate/ Mckenzie Friend legal services to help you as a litigant in person run a legal action. Support can be provided across a range of legal areas: family law, contract law and employment law with preparatory work, negotiation, and assistance at court. If you find yourself in a difficult legal situation, going through divorce, have problems with a tradesperson or retailer, have been suspended at work or are facing disciplinary action, friend4Litigants can help you with legal support at a fraction of the cost of a solicitor or barrister.
About Us
Are you having difficulty with the CSA / CMEC as either the resident or non resident parent? Get in touch to discuss your options.
Support can be provided by phone, email and often video conference for your case management, form filling, statement writing, evidence analysis and negotiating stance.
We cover much of England and Wales but key areas covered by friend4Litigants include Yorkshire and the Midlands including Bradford, Birmingham, Coventry, Halifax, Hull, Harrogate, Leeds, Leicester, Selby, Wakefield, York.
Family Law
Family Law is divided into three main parts and friend4Litigants can assist in the areas detailed:
Children - service of proceedings, child arrangement orders, specific issues, leave to remove, safeguarding, dealing with CAFCASS, guardians, finding of fact hearings, non-molestation orders, occupancy orders, direction and final hearings, consent orders, enforcement.
Finance - service of proceedings, ancilary relief proceedings, spousal maintenance, child maintenance, consent orders, enforcement, and assistance in dealing with the child support agency (CSA)
The divorce process itself - service of proceedings, petitions, answers, cross petitions, application for decree absolute.
friend4Litigants can provide help with handling all these areas. What forms to file and how to fill them out, how to separate what is important from what is irrelevant, how to stay focussed and make progress, how to diffuse conflict and concentrate on the child involved, step by step guidance is available.
Employment Law
Friend4Litigants can help you prepare your case for disciplinary proceedings at work or for employment tribunals. This could be helping you to review the case, build evidence, evaluate the company procedures or prepare mitigation. Whether you are facing a warning or dismissal, friend4Litigants can guide you to find the right approach, whether this is an appeal, a claim for unfair or constructive dismissal, or even that you simply have to face the reality of the situation and accept the outcome, the aim is to help you take the best course of action for yourself now and in the future.
You should note that neither a lay advocate nor a lawyer can represent you or attend with you at a disciplinary meeting.
Criminal Law
friend4Litigants can assist with criminal law issues that are related to family and or divorce proceedings. Typical and unfortunate examples that are experienced by those separating can include accusations of physical or sexual abuse by one former partner against another or the children involved. Whilst a sad indictment on society that false accusations are made to "control" a situation, none the less without investigation it is impossible for the authorities to tell it there is any value behind them. This does make them an effective weapon in Children Act cases as they can be used to delay or even prevent contact with offspring for indeterminate periods of time, allowing a new "status quo" domestic arrangement to be set up that influences future contact when this is finally resumed.
Contract Law
Are you a consumer? Are you experiencing difficulty with a contract with a business into which you have entered?
If so, friend4Litigants can provide you with help to examine and dissect the contract to give you information on what your liabilities might be and whether you may be entitled to damages or to withdraw.
